Reebok began in 1980 when a shoemaker named J.W. Foster, based beside Bolton, UK, developed the first known running shoes with spikes and Foster's spikes were worn by British athletes at the 1924 Olympics in Paris. In 1958, the company changed its name to "Reebok" and in 1982 Reebok released the Reebok Freestyle aerobics shoe, the first athletic shoe designed for women, beginning the companies association with training & fitness. Over the years, Reebok have developed many different technologies including the legendary Reebok Pump and ZigTech. Reebok announced a partnership in 2010 with CrossFit, the fitness company and increasingly popular competitive fitness sport and in 2013 with Les Mills, a group fitness and team training programme that operates in over 80 countries and over 15,000 fitness studios cementing its place as the brand for the "Sport of Fitness".
